K.L.I.T.T.E.R: An up and coming Glitchcore Shooter

Image
I was on Itch.io today on the lookout for some new indies to review. considering it was Halloween season I figured to look for some horror games but of the games that caught my eyes it wasn't a horror game but an action game. A game called  K.L.I.T.T.E.R This image was striking, and it promised a high octane and energetic gorefest along the same line as Ultrakill. So I decided to give it a try. Now keep in mind, as of writing, K.L.I.T.T.E.R is only a demo meaning a work in progress. so keep take everything I Saw from the perspective that it will get adjusted and polished as it goes along. Let's start with the games look. The game touts itself as 'glitchcore' I didn't know what that meant so I googled it and it means this: And from my playthrough I can definitely say the game has that energy about it. The games visuals are a beautiful mishmash that feels like Ultrakill huffed Jetset Radio spray paint fumes. this game is a beautiful mishmash of sounds and colors that ...

Lucky's sermon to Caffeine

Image
So here I am, Enjoying a can of Monster Import and staring at the taunting blank page of the devil itself(blogger) it mocks me and urges me to overshare about a topic nobody cares about... Ok elaborate intro's done, onto the topic. Energy drinks! Kidney stone juice, shit yourself potion, whatever you call it these heavily caffeinated cans of energy are a standard. I consider myself a bit of an energy drink sommelier, there's no caffeinated beverage I haven't at least tried. My blood is a controlled substance in 37 states. the amounts of caffeine, taurine, vitamin b12, artificial sweeteners and citric acids I've consumed let my blood be used as car engine fuel and battery acid in the right amounts. As such I have a mental tier list of energy drinks. Maybe I'll write up the tier list proper one day but for now I just wanna go over some of my personal favorites. Starting off with A cult classic, hailed as gods gift to the world and for good reason... WHITE MONSTER  (...

My dear geeks and freaks it is October, the only month worth anything. The time of spooky movies, Count Chocula, candy corn(It's good! Shuddup!) and of course, if you're an Indie geek like Moi, It's time to Replay Night in the woods for the uptillionth time. Everyone knows this delight of a game by now and since it's not the main topic of this blogpost I'll keep this brief. NITW is an indie side scrolling story driven game about Mae and the weird events of her town after she dropped out of college. The game is truly without compare and holds a special place in my heart and in the hearts of so many others. and as such when you finish it you feel a bit of a hole at the center of everything.  When I got that feeling, My natural instinct was to search out another game to fill in that void. I've tried more than a few, The darkside detective was too puzzle driven to give quite that same feel that NITW gets, and Kentucky route zero, while a masterwork in it's own r...

Idle fang, Pouring Gasoline Review:

Image
It's been a while since I last wrote.  See I completely forgot about this blog for a while because of Ultrakill and trying in vein to kill Sisyphus prime. While I was taking a rest from the game I was looking through my bookmarks and came across a bookmark for Bandcamp, leading to a band called Idle fang, specifically their album "POURING GASOLINE" When I looked at this I went "Oh damn this looks cool, someone should write a blog post about- Ohhh." So here we are with my honest thoughts on Idle fang's Pouring Gasoline. First, Just wanna say it's cool that these guys come from right here in my home state of NJ, Once again the state proves itself as the greatest haven for alt music, And I gotta say the album cover is among my favorites of the smaller bands I've seen in recent memory. But looks aren't everything, What's it sound like? Pouring gasoline is super fast and aggressive but not quite to the grindcore-esque degree of Generation Declin...
