Wall Breaker Review: Mine not yours MotherF*cker!

So today I was strolling on Bandcamp, searching for some new punk music to titillate my understimulated ear regions. After all I had heard everything that Lower class brats, Descendants, black flag and Propaghandi had to offer. It was time for something new.

I scrolled for a bit, looking for some acts from right here in my home state of new jersey, when I was greeted by a certain pink logo that drew my eye

Wall Breaker here is a NJ based straightedge hardcore punk band who try to replicate the early 80s sound of bands like SSD, and slapshot.

the band consists of members of other hardcore acts such as Jeremy Evans of Cokebust, Jeff Desantis of bloodtype, Ken Ramsay of glory fades and Ben Wood of chainsaw to the face and they all come together in a blistering act of trump presidency anger.

Their latest EP, "Choice now!" is short, only three songs long and all of five minutes but the songs were a blast to listen to, and something awesome is that all proceeds of the albums limited release are going to the national network of abortion funds, It's always awesome when punk acts actually mix activism with their music and I enjoyed the EP so much I actually decided to buy one of the vinyl's myself.

The first song is the titular Choice now which opens with a long guitar screech which leads to machine gun drums and aggressive growling vocals, from the start I knew it was gonna be a GREAT song.

Choice now is about shouting out at the 'forces that be' who attempt to control bodily autonomy, whilst also calling people to action against it and to make their 'choice now'

Though the first track I knew that this EP was going to be great and that it was going to be dripping with what makes REAL punk great. Vocals? drums? guitar? All secondary. what matters most is the Cause, the message, the rage! and that same anger is what brings us into the next track.

Chaos magik is the second track. and this one is a bit more experimental, it opens up with a long screech and a keyboard riff followed by what I think is a phone dialing before immediately kicking off.

Chaos magik
is about being uncertain about the reality of the world when that same reality is being dictated by the powers that be and tearing it apart to regain lost clarity

The sound of this one is very unique to my ear and Magik was a real blast to listen to.

The last song is called Mine not yours which is shortest at only 21 seconds long, it's an angry guitar riff and a single verse "Mine not yours motherfucker!" Short, sweet, angry and to the point. sometimes that's all you need!

Overall Wall Breaker's Choice now was a short but wonderfully sweet blast of that magik that only underground acts can provide. if you're a fellow punk? I highly recommend.
